Destination : Konitsa Epirus, Greece

Konitsa Epirus, Greece

I Love to travel and experience the beauty of nature in different places all around the world. One of my favorite places is in my own country in the north west of Greece. You can find it in the region of Epirus and specifically the town of Konitsa.

There you can find one of the many old bridges of the area that was build in 1870 in the Aoos river. The Aoos river canyon begins there, the view behind the bridge and inside the canyon is amazing with the beautiful peaks and the crystal clear river.

The best time of the year is definitely Autumn, between end of October until end of November. You can access the bridge easily and there are a lot of signs in the area.

The above picture of Konitsa old bridge was taken end of October early morning. Probably the best time of the day is the sunrise as it is a tourist attraction during the day and especially in sunset.

The area near the town of Konitsa is called Zagori and it is a National Park that offers a lot of opportunities for wonderful landscape photography and hiking. You can also see Vikos Canyon, many old beautiful bridges, picturesque villages and even alpine lakes on the top of the mountains.

About Dora Artemiadi

I was Born and raised in Athens Greece. I was always interested in photography but I became more serious 4 years ago when I discovered Landscape Photography. I love to travel to different places around the world and I am doing it as often as I can. I like to capture what I feel when I am out there and not just the place. Sometimes this happens sometimes it doesn’t. In any case the memories are invaluable and even the times that a trip does not end in a good picture it always ends in a wonderful experience.
