Lake District based Millican have launched a unique and exciting ‘Blank Canvas Project’. The project is a series of limited edition collaborations with people or projects who inspire creativity, action and positive change. The Blank Canvas Project started when the company were working on a design concept that would enable the use of a single piece of canvas to create an 18L roll pack.
“The Blank Canvas Project is an idea that we hope will help the world go around the right way. We use our Blank Canvas pack as a canvas to share ideas, to voice opinion and to celebrate creative freedom on the fabric of a bag” – Jeffrey Bowman, Creative Director, Millican.
Along the way they were inspired to use this single canvas design as part of a wider creative project – offering a ‘blank canvas’ to collaborators with great ideas to share.
We are massive fans of the Millican range of bags and are well aware of their committment to sustainable, product design. The Blank Canvas roll pack is made using a single piece of soft-brushed and is waterproof.
The roll pack is 100% recycled polyester canvas made from 40 recycled PET bottles.
The Blank Canvas Project is all about sharing; working together to help good things happen.
Collaboration 1 : The Do Lectures
The first of the Blank Canvas collaborations was with the famous ‘The Do Lectures’. The Do Lectures give people all over the world the drive they need to act on their dreams. They invite passionate, creative people to share their ideas and tell their stories at a network of intimate, global events, always in inspiring outdoor locations.
It’s all about the atmosphere – creating a place where ideas gain new momentum. Away from the rush of everyday life, guests and speakers camp together, listen together, connect, learn and share…then leave with fresh determination to change the world, in their own way.
“The Do Lectures equip people with ideas and inspiration – tools for their journey in life. That’s exactly what we as aspire to do at Millican. I love the drive to create positive change through the simple fact of sharing, and it’s a lovely thought that our collaboration can connect a wider community with that motivation to do” – Jorrit Jorritsma, Co-Founder, Millican
